I am an experienced Experience Design specialist, passionate about championing the user when solving design problems. A visual and strategic thinker, comfortable with complex problems and keen on getting to the core of a challenge. A strong bias for socially conscious projects. I enjoy working with and developing multidisciplinary teams, to bring together a diverse set of skills to create a powerful end result.
How I work
It goes without saying that as an Experience Designer I am passionate about championing the voice of the user in design and ensuring that their needs are met. However, during my career I have also found some approaches that define my individual working style and help to ensure I achieve the best results. These are:
1. Get to the core of the challenge
Design briefs can come in all shapes and sizes and sometimes they overlook the true business and user needs. I find that digging into what the design brief is really asking for at the start of a project can ensure that the ultimate goals are met.
2. Design process is key
Although there is no one size fits all approach, I find having a structured design process is key to achieving the best results. A design process ensures that everything you do informs your next move and has huge benefits in terms of efficient use of limited time, increased satisfaction of the team and ultimately the quality of the final product.
3. I ❤ diagrams
I am a visual communicator and love to explain concepts via simple visual models. I find this greatly helps to align a teams thinking and ensures that everyone is on the same page.
